An important state-owned backbone enterprise, China National Petroleum Corporation is a comprehensive international energy company specialized in oil and gas business, engineering technology services, petroleum engineering construction, petroleum equipment manufacturing, financial services, and new energy development. It is one of the major oil and gas producers and suppliers in China.
In the retrofit project, special attention was drawn to the following two aspects:
1. Difficult to locate faults
Multiple sets of internal systems with a great variety of devices are deployed at the gas stations. Due to the large number and wide coverage of gas stations, as well as the absence of permanent IT staff, it is extremely difficult to locate faults.
2. The huge amount of intranet attacks
Given by the complexity of personnel in gas stations, the existing network devices fail to provide sufficient protection, leaving them extremely vulnerable to ransomware infection and endangering intranet security.
Following the construction requirements of the PetroChina Group Headquarters for upgrading gas station management systems 3.0, the Sichuan Company strives to improve the security protection capabilities of gas stations in its jurisdiction, and realize unified management and operation and maintenance by engaging DPtech in the transformation and upgrade of gas stations in batches.
▌ Intranet security protection
With an intelligent security gateway deployed at each gas station, security protection features such as firewall, antivirus, and intrusion prevention are enabled to ensure safe data transmission from the gas station to the provincial company; meanwhile, thanks to its built-in behavior recognition model, DPtech's Self-Secure switches can effectively block abnormal connections and virus transmission to ensure the intranet security of gas stations;
