Recently, DPtech worked hand in hand with Guangzhou-Shenzhen Highway to implement network-wide deployment of its network security solutions. With a next-generation Self-Secure toll collection system that is in compliance with Network Security Protection System 2.0, security threats including virus spreading and intranet attacks can be effectively blocked and isolated, achieving a toll collection system that provides timely detection, fast disposal, and trusted traceability.
Hailed as the Golden Corridor of the Pearl River Delta, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Highway is a traffic artery connecting Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Hong Kong. As traditional highway toll systems often focus only on interconnectivity, they fail to provide effective security protection in the event that an attack or virus spreads wildly on the network, which will not only have negative impacts on the normal operation of toll collection systems, but also difficult to trace back after the security incidents. To this end, Guangzhou-Shenzhen Highway, based on the short-term and long-term development goals of highway toll systems, and in accordance with construction requirements of Network Security Protection System 2.0, deployed Self-Secure network solutions to integrate network transmission and security protection, equipping key nodes in the toll network and even the access layer devices with access control, intrusion prevention, UAG, and malicious code removal.
▌ Early warning and disposal ensures network security protection
The Self-Secure network solution is widely deployed at the 22 toll stations in the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Highway. Through built-in behavior models, it enables timely detection and effective isolation of security incidents including virus transmission, bots attacks and hacker penetration, thus refraining threats to access gateway. It also provides real-time monitoring and disposal capabilities for ring networks, illegal private connection, counterfeiting devices, realizing timely detection and effective isolation of threats in highway toll collection systems.
▌ Lightweight security access and clearly-defined permissions
The Self-Secure network solution offers lightweight access from a wide variety of devices, such as desktops, laptops and printers in offices, and cameras, speedometers, environmental sensors and others in toll systems. Through quick development of resource access policies for all terminals at each toll station, secure network access requirements in various scenarios can be met and division of authority and responsibility in cross-department collaboration can be realized.
▌ In-depth traceability ensures compliance
To realize effective traceback and location of security risks through a set of multi-dimensional stereo network security traceback mechanisms, the Self-Secure network solution enables intranet behavior traceability from multiple dimensions, such as user, login device, access location, login time, accessed resources, etc. Access histories from access location to assessed resources can be fully monitored by using the UAG device, satisfying the requirements for security compliance in accordance with Provisions on Technical Measures for Internet Security Protection (Order No. 82 of the Ministry of Public Security), and the Regulations on Internet Security Supervision and Inspection by Public Security Organs (Order No. 151 of the Ministry of Public Security).
▌ Simple desktop operation and maintenance and fully visible network security
The long distance between each toll station and the absence of permanent operation and maintenance staff combined put forward great challenges to the managers of road segments. Deployed at the management center, the Self-Secure network management platform displays all network devices, access terminals, users, and security incidents at all toll stations, giving administrators with a full understanding of all terminals and their security status. In addition, common network abnormalities and faults such as ring networks can be addressed remotely, ensuing simple system adminnistration and desktop operation and maintenance.
DPtech has put forward an intelligent toll collection solution according to scenario requirements of highways and the Basic Requirements for Network Security of Provincial Connected Systems. Aiming to build the next-generation secure toll networks, the solution from DPtech enables network-wide security protection from provincial network management center, to network management centers at road segments, and to toll stations/ETC frames, providing real-time detection, intelligent disposal, and active defense against network threats.
